For our first regional highlight, we thought we’d start close to home! Deli 61 is based in South Wales and we’re really proud of the produce that comes from our area - we think you’ll love them too.
1. Blaenafon Cheddar Company
We’re particularly proud of being a stockist of Blaenafon Cheese Co. and their wonderful range of flavoured Cheddar. Their ethos, “Distinctive Cheddar with Heritage”, can be seen across all of their cheese. From the more conventional flavours, like their Dragons Breath Chilli Cheddar, to their more unique flavours like ‘Bara Brith’ (with Vine Fruits soaked in Brandy and Sherry). Blaenafon Cheddar Co. always injects Welsh heritage into their products - they even use local alcohols in their cheese. Blaenafon Cheddar is based in the World Heritage Site of Blaenafon - you can even see scenes of Blaenafon’s industrial heritage on the labels of the cheeses. A must-try for Welsh cheese lovers!

2. Spirit of Wales
We love Spirit of Wales’ products so much that they were our Supplier of the Month for April! Their products are distilled in Newport and are heavily inspired by Wales’ industrial heritage of steel production and coal mining - this can especially be seen in their ‘Steeltown’ range. Spirit of Wales manages to capture the essence of the Welsh with their complex and interesting flavours - we feel their products are a love letter to Wales and Welsh history! Spirit of Wales also knows how to help you best enjoy their products - from their guided distillery tours and tasting experiences to the recipes on their website, they embody Welsh hospitality.

Brecon Chocolates are also inspired by Welsh heritage - they use local alcohols such as Brecon Rose Gin and various spirits from the Penderyn Distillery. They make chocolates inspired by Welsh areas, like their Dark Chocolate Hot Pembrokeshire Chilli and Lime Truffle. They have a number of unique flavours that are a must-try for any chocolate lover - in fact, we love them so much that we’ve made Brecon Chocolates our Supplier of the Month for May!

4. Monmouth Gin Company
Monmouth Gin Co. makes small-batch, handcrafted gin inspired by the rich history and landscape of Monmouthshire. Infused with locally sourced botanicals, their gins have won multiple awards - four for their London Dry Gin, and two for their newly released Pink Gin. We’re inspired by their origin story and journey - can you believe they started with a gifted ‘make your own gin’ kit? They also have many wonderful Cocktail recipes which we will be sharing with you over the coming months.
